Three stories of healing from Long COVID. Lauri, Cameron and Heydieh all suffered from intense fatigue, brain fog and a whole list of other symptoms that came about from their infection with COVID-19. Today the have recovered thanks to multiple modalities that address the tissue damage that COVID-19 causes.

Every day at AMA Regenerative Medicine & Skincare patients recover from Long COVID with a variety of modalities designed to heal the tissue damage caused by COVID-19

The following are three personal stories of healing from Long COVID fatigue and brain fog. While all of our patients suffer from a any number of the 200 symptoms associated with Long COVID, it is the fatigue and brain fog that are the most debilitating for them.

Lauri – I’m No Longer the Long COVID Walking Dead

(the following is a transcript of the full interview with Heydieh)

My name is Lauri and I’ve recovered from long COVID. I first got COVID back on November 8th, 2020. Initially I didn’t think it was that big of a deal, aside from being tired and not feeling very well. But I did end up with pneumonia in December, which I recovered from fairly rapidly.

After taking the antibiotics and the steroids for pneumonia, I recovered from the pneumonia, but I never recovered from COVID and I never regained my strength and my brain function or any function at all.

My Long COVID Symptoms

Unsteadiness and brain fog and extreme fatigue were my main symptoms of long COVID. Intensely low energy, where I would do nothing but sit in a chair all day except to go to the bathroom and maybe get up to get something to eat or something to drink and go straight back to the chair.

When I would walk, I would feel dizzy and I would feel unstable. I was unstable, I would have to hold onto things to walk.

Lauri had such extreme fatigue from the Long COVID that all she would do is sit in a chair all day.

I also had so much inflammation that I actually gained about 30 pounds. All inflammation, it’s not fat or weight, it’s purely… I feel like I’m wearing a suit. I would look in the mirror and I didn’t even recognize myself. So I couldn’t see… The expression in my eyes was gone. It didn’t look like me, and my body didn’t look like me, and nothing about me looked how I normally would look. Which is a very disheartening thing to go through.

No Physical Energy, No Emotional Energy and No Intellectual Energy

One of the worst symptoms was, I had very intense brain fog in that I felt like a goldfish and I couldn’t remember anything and I would have to write things down and then I wouldn’t remember to look at my list. My husband would ask me to do something or call someone or do something. And then he’d come home at the end of the day and he’d say, “Did you do the thing?” And I’d say, “What thing?” And I would look on my list and I wouldn’t even have the thought to even look to see if I had to do anything, which was very frustrating. I literally felt like a goldfish, just like everything, every day, every minute was a new minute. And I was just only there. I was the most zen person on the planet.

I could verbalize, I could tell people how I was feeling and I tried to keep an upbeat attitude about it because I didn’t want to get depressed. I’m a very high functioning person in my normal life, so for me to be doing nothing was a very unusual occurrence. That was very difficult on my whole family, and on me. It would’ve been frustrating except I just felt apathy, because I didn’t have enough energy to hold my kids.

The weirdest part was, you just didn’t have the energy to care about anything. Which was a really difficult thing. I would actually get up in the morning and sit there and say, “Okay do I want to take a shower today? Or do I want to be able to cook something for lunch because I can’t do both,” because I was so worn out. I literally felt like I was part of the furniture.

There were times when my husband would come home from work and he would talk to me, and my husband is a very high energy person. He would talk to me and I’d be watching him and I would have no idea what he was saying to me. I couldn’t process any of the words that he was saying. And so he would be talking for half an hour and I would not understand anything that he was saying to me. Which was very unusual and frustrating for both of us.

How I Found a Clinic that Could Heal Long COVID

I found out about AMA Regenerative Medicine through a good friend. My husband was at a funeral for one of our friends that died from COVID. Our friend was there and asking how I was doing. And Tom told him, that Alan told Tom about this clinic and the success they had, had and he had heard that they were doing a lot of work with long COVID and having success.

I called AMA Regenerative Medicine and came down immediately. I have now had nine days of treatment.

My Long COVID Treatment Protocol

Patient having EBOO apheresis treatment for Long COVID.

One of the first treatments that Lauri had was the EBOO /F.

The first day I came to AMA Clinic I did the EBOO /F, the hyperbaric chamber and the high dose IV vitamin therapy. For nine days I’ve been alternating those protocols. Then we also have just added in a high dose vitamin C. Since doing these treatments…

I did them for the first seven days, then I went home and did Thanksgiving dinner for my family, and my family said my light was back on and that I looked like I was coming back. I was also able to taste food. For a year I could not smell or taste food. I am able to smell and taste, not completely, but I am able to smell and taste more than I have for a year, which was very beneficial on Thanksgiving.

I went home after doing seven days of treatment, I cooked Thanksgiving dinner for 12 people, the next day I went to a football game, the day after that I went shopping with my best friend for her birthday, and then I visited my son at his new apartment. Then I flew back here and I’m back for another nine days of treatment before I go home. I’m hoping that that’ll get me to the top of the mountain.

My friend that visited me every single day that I was sick I sent a text message from dinner. I sent her a text message on Wednesday night. And I said, “I don’t mean to brag, I just was able to taste my dinner.” That was after the third day of treatment. And she said, “Stop, you’re making me cry.”

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

The hyperbaric chamber, you go into this enclosed space, and they pressurize it and they give you oxygen. While the pressure is expanding or dropping or whichever way it goes, it feels like your ears are popping, so you clear that until everything equalizes. Then it’s very relaxing, it’s very quiet and you end up falling asleep.

Explore the photos below to get an in-depth view of the Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber (HBOT).

The thing that I noticed that’s exciting because I’m asthmatic, is I was able to inflate my lungs completely, which I haven’t been able to do in a very long time. Especially after having the COVID. I can go in there and I can breathe and I’ll completely inflate my lungs, and it doesn’t hurt and it doesn’t cause me to cough.

It’s very relaxing. You just feel relaxed and you take a little nap and then an hour later they come and get you out. It’s wonderful.

EBOO /F (Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation, Ozonation & Filtration)

The EBOO /F treatment they hook lines up to both of your arms and one of them has blood coming out and then it goes through ozone and a filter and then it comes back in on the other side. The treatment lasts I think 45 minutes and then another 15 minutes to get everything wrapped up.

After the first treatment with the EBOO /F I was exhausted. I had to go home and just go to sleep. I was so tired. The next day I felt really good and I felt energized and I felt better.

High Dose Ozone Therapy (HDOT)

The next day I did the 10 Pass ozone machine. They hook a line up to your arm and the blood comes out and it swirls in this little cup and mixes ozone in and then it goes back in and it does that 10 times.

That treatment gives you energy as well. I don’t know how to describe it. Then you get the high potency vitamin IV afterwards and then you feel really good, you sleep well.

You Can’t Put a Price on Feeling Like Yourself Again

After suffering through the long COVID for a year, I’m feeling like myself again. It’s hard to describe how good it feels to feel like there’s hope that I’m not going to be like this for the rest of my life.

One of the things that all you hear on the news is these many people died of Covid. Dying from Covid is not the worst thing, being the living dead is the worst thing. To begin to be able to be myself and to think and to have conversations and to have life in the way that I talk to people again, you can’t put a price on it, it’s amazing.

Cameron – How I Recovered from Long Covid with EBOO Apheresis and HBOT

(the following is a transcript of the full interview with Cameron)

Hi, my name’s Cameron. I contracted COVID in February, 2021 and I’ve been sick pretty much ever since.

When I Caught COVID-19 I Was Denied Early Treatment Medication

When I first caught COVID I wasn’t prescribed any medications. I was told to take the basic vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin D3 and zinc. I combated the symptoms with DayQuil, Zyrtec and Claritin-D.

I wasn’t prescribed any other medications by my doctors, even though there was some knowledge out there that certain medications would work. We even requested specific medications and were denied them. Yes. We requested Ivermectin. We requested Hydroxychloroquine. We actually had Hydroxychloroquine in the house because my wife has an autoimmune disease she was prescribed it for. We were told not to take it.

My COVID-19 Infection Transitioned into Something Else

I started out feeling like I just had COVID continuously. Then, it slowly transitioned into something else.

Most of my Long COVID symptoms have been head related. I had some pretty extreme fatigue, brain fog and facial pressure. That’s been my number one symptom. It’s just the pain that hurts. For the last two to three months, I’ve been in such terrible pain that I can’t really function normally.

Even my eyesight is not as good as it once was. I feel like I’m looking through a tunnel at times.

The brain fog has been really, really hard because of what I do for a living. I’m a CFO. I sit at a desk all day. I’m running a company of about 80 people and I can’t be off. I have to be on 24/7 and that’s been the hardest thing for me.

A doctor even prescribed me Adderall just to keep me up and my brain working on a daily basis. I was taking 40 milligrams of Adderall a day and that was just enough to get me by. I’d still get home at 5:30 or 6:00 o’clock, take a shower and go to bed.

No One Could Figure Out What Was Wrong With Me

I’ve tried over 35 different medications, a concierge doctor that we hired, Kaiser, other specialists and other neurologists that haven’t been able to figure out what’s going on with me.

That’s how I ended up here at AMA Regenerative Medicine & Skincare. My mom was on the Frontline website, found your information and that’s how I ended up here.

Finally A Clinic That Provided Treatments That Worked

Patient having EBOO apheresis treatment for Long COVID.

One of the first treatments that Lauri had was the EBOO /F.

The treatments that I have received here so far have pretty much been the first thing that’s worked for me, that’s given me any relief from these Long COVID symptoms.

After my first couple of treatments I’m feeling much, much better.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Being in the hyperbaric chamber I felt relief almost immediately as soon as I got out. I don’t know if it was the fact that I got relaxed and I was breathing oxygen and just got some time to relax. I just felt better.

Cameron in a Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber which is great for the Long COVID neurological issues.

For the neurological issues, headaches, migraines, cluster headaches, paresthesias and numbness. Oftentimes after the very first treatment Long COVID patients begin to experience a relief of those headaches. It’s going to take more than just two or three of these. Usually it takes 10 or even 20 of these but HBOT will heal your neurology.

The hyperbaric chamber is honestly really relaxing. It’s quiet. For me, no one can talk to me, which is nice because the majority of my life people are constantly barging into my office wanting to talk to me. It’s just a little bit of quiet time.

It’s comfortable. The pressure doesn’t bother me at all. I’m able to regulate my ears without even touching my nose or anything. It’s very easy to regulate your ears on the way down. It’s honestly very relaxing.

EBOO /F – Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation with Filtration

My first EBOO treatment was shortly after being in the hyperbaric chamber for an hour. About halfway through my first treatment with the EBOO machine, I immediately felt like my cognitive function was better. I could actually think and not feel like I’m just trudging through everything.

Cameron receiving an EBOO treatment to remove the toxic debris floating around in his blood.

When you’ve had long-term chronic inflammation and damage to the tissues, your blood accumulates with debris. This debris floating around in your blood are classified as endotoxins. They are toxic to you. You’ve got to get that stuff out of you. Well, that’s exactly what EBOO (apheresis) does.

My pain didn’t go away immediately. I woke up the next morning and felt like a new person. My wife said, “I feel like my husband’s back”, because I haven’t been myself for so long. I had probably three days of feeling really, really good after that first treatment. Then slowly it went backwards that next week. It was still probably 50% better than I have been in 10 months. I had been told that healing is not linear. That I may take 3 steps forward and 1 step back.

This is my third treatment and I’m definitely going in the right direction. Each treatment I get better and better and expect to be at 100% after this or my next treatment.

Never Give Up! Recovering from Long COVID IS Possible

There were definitely times in this battle that I felt like there was nothing that was going to make me better. There were times where I didn’t even want to fight anymore. I was just so tired and felt like crap for so long that I had told my wife, “I don’t want to fight this thing anymore”. I literally just wanted to lay in bed and do nothing.

Now I feel like there’s definitely a light at the end of the tunnel. I think that with enough treatments and enough of taking care of myself, I can definitely be back to myself again.

Heydieh – How I Healed from Long COVID Fatigue and Brain Fog

(the following is a transcript of the full interview with Heydieh)

My name is Heydieh.  I’m here at AMA Regenerative Medicine & Skincare and just thought I’d share my story about what brought me here.

A Mild Case of COVID-19 that Turned into Something Much Worse

I got COVID-19 back in May 2022. I had a mild infection that cleared up after about a week and shortly thereafter I started testing negative. It was after I started testing negative for the virus that my symptoms became much worse and continued to get worse over time.

About a week after testing negative I started to have all sorts of unusual symptoms. My fatigue was getting significantly worse. My brain fog was getting worse. I was having difficulty formulating words and speaking sentences. I had another fever that would not subside as well as chills and body aches that were continuous.

Unbearable Fatigue Unlike Anything I Have Ever Experienced

More than anything it was the fatigue that was just unbearable. Something as small as a daily task would wipe me out for the rest of the day or even a few days. Even talking on the phone, just having a short conversation, and I’d be wiped out for several days and couldn’t do my work.

I couldn’t stand, I couldn’t even formulate words to send a text message. People obviously became worried and I couldn’t even reach out and say, “hey, I’m not well”, because it just took too much out of me.

I was really struggling. I was really struggling just making it through my day. I couldn’t work for about two months and I was praying for a miracle. Praying, praying and praying. It was a really tough time and nobody knew what was happening.

The Doctors Couldn’t Figure Out What Was Wrong With Me

Not a single doctor could figure out what was happening. What was wrong with me. They would say things like, “it’s just the effect of the virus, you’ll get better”. They didn’t know.

I was having some gastro symptoms as well. They would say, “maybe you ate something that was off and your body’s fighting some infection related to some gastroenteritis”. They weren’t giving me many leads.

I just felt intuitively something’s not right. This can’t be right.

Guided to a Clinic that Had the Answers

I came across ozone therapy and something about ozone therapy just struck me in my heart. I though, “that sounds interesting, let me find some places that do this”. I thought, “God, just please take me to the right place”. I said a prayer and I looked at all the clinics that offered ozone therapy.

I came across AMA Regenerative Medicine & Skincare and I felt this explosion of light just exploding out of the screen into my whole being. Then I heard, I felt like God was telling me “these people love God and your healing is with Me”. I wept and wept. I was so grateful. I get emotional talking about it.

Of course, I was skeptical and I didn’t know what was going to happen when I came here. I didn’t know but I was willing to try. Since the moment I picked up the phone and made that phone call I felt God’s love in every moment. I felt the caring, the tenderness, the sincerity of all the people that work here, that truly love being here, that love serving. It’s been such a gift.

I’ve been witnessing miracles, day, after day, after day. Feeling the infusion of light and healing in this place is such a breath of fresh air. I’ve been waiting for it for a very long time. I’m so grateful that God brought me here.

A Place of Complete Healing

During my time here I had the pleasure of watching dozens of people come and go. To see them get better and not just their symptoms disappear but also to see their vitality increase. People come here and change.

Heydieh receiving a High Dose Ozone Therapy Treatment.

During chronic inflammation, your mitochondria suffer horribly which leads to the symptoms of Long COVID. The ozone stimulates those mitochondria. It ramps them up, so you can produce lots and lots of energy. This is essential for life and absolutely critical for regaining the health and vitality of these damaged tissues.

I’m grateful for what you guys are doing. The services and treatments that you provide. I’m grateful that I was guided to this clinic. Thank you so much!

The Doctor that Finally Gave Me a Treatment Plan

Meeting Dr. Pien was a gift in itself. She’s so caring and she listened so deeply. When she sat down the first thing she said to me was, “here we believe that God is the healer and we’re just the vessels”. To say that is one thing, but to be that and to witness her being that was incredible.

She gave me a Long COVID treatment plan that was extraordinary. It addressed all of my Long COVID symptoms. It even addressed the symptoms that I had been experiencing for years prior to COVID that I couldn’t get answers for. I’m immensely grateful and I look forward to referring all of my friends and family.

Some of the Treatments I’ve Had for Long Covid

Explore the photos below to get an in-depth view of the EBOO /F (apheresis) treatment.

Let me tell you a little bit about the treatments that I’ve had. I had never heard of EBOO (extracorporeal blood oxygenation and ozonation) before but I came across it on the AMA website. All the amazing information that the doctors have put up has been very thorough.

Again, I felt immense light when I was reading about the EBOO treatment. I started with three EBOOs and then we continued with high potency Vitamin C and a few 10 Passes (high dose ozone therapy), NAD, Methylene Blue, PolyMVA and High Potency Vitamins. After the first treatment, I felt an enormous shift and every treatment after built upon that with the hyperbaric oxygen chamber and the IVs and all the other good stuff.

Heydieh receiving IV Methylene Blue to correct mitochondrial dysfunction, most notably improving neuroinflammation and cognitive changes, including “brain fog.”.

COVID-19 can affect the central nervous system (CNS). These effects on the CNS can contribute to the symptoms seen in those with Long COVID such as cognitive changes, including “brain fog.” Since Methylene Blue is able to correct mitochondrial dysfunction it can improve many areas of mitochondrial damage most notably neuroinflammation.

I’m pretty much done with the bulk of my treatment. Yay! I will be back at least on a monthly basis for a tune up and to get IVs for longevity and optimal health. I travel often so it would be great to get the treatments before my trips.

Of course, I’m also going to come by and say hi, because the staff is so amazing.

EBOO /F – Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation with Filtration

After the first EBOO I felt like the lights went back on. Like something in my brain turned on. I noticed that I was talking to the nurse and I was coherent when I was talking to her. It had been a while since I felt like I could have a coherent conversation.

Then the next morning I woke up and I literally felt like I had new blood in my veins. I felt like a new person waking up. I felt like it was the beginning of starting to feel well again. There were some ups and downs through the detoxing process. After I did about three sessions of EBOO and then I did about five sessions of the high dose ozone, the 10 pass, and started doing the hyperbaric chamber it was just the turning point for me. Something shifted completely.

It was the turning point where I started to find myself again.

Today’s my last treatment and I never thought I would say this but it’s bittersweet for me. I really enjoyed coming here, receiving the treatments, conversing with other people that are going through the same process and learning new things that I feel like we haven’t been told, or we haven’t learned about, as far as this new COVID-19 virus.

A Beautiful Thing to Watch Others Heal from Long COVID

I feel like the care that I’ve gotten here has been so exceptional. It’s just hard to come by.

Long Covid Patient Heydieh hugging the nurses that took care of her.

“I feel like I’ve made some genuine connections with the nurses and the staff here. It really, truly feels like a family here. The nurses are amazing”.

I feel like I’ve made some genuine connections with the nurses and the staff here. It really, truly feels like a family here.

It’s such a treat to be alongside the healing processes of others and to see people come in ill with Long COVID and they leave well. The synergy that creates to observe that process has just been such a beautiful thing.

The IV room is a joyful room. Yes. It is a room of joy, truly.

Like I mentioned earlier, the nurses are amazing and they provide that container really beautifully too. I have to give kudos to them.

Supporting the Body’s Natural Ability to Heal Itself

It’s amazing. It’s amazing how we’re created. If we just support that process, rather than bombard it, or hinder that process. Then it knows what to do.

The idea of longevity and optimal health, it never even crossed my mind that it could be possible. I thought you just kind of trudge along, but you can live with vitality and have longevity. These treatments that we can do certainly help with that process.
